Tipar Cakung Flat to Be Powered with Gas

As instructed by Jakarta Vice Governor Basuki T Purnama, Jakarta Public Housing and Government’s Buildings Department is going to install gas pipelines in flats for domestic needs of flat inhabitants. And one of the flats to be installed with gas pipelines is Tipar Cakung Flat, East Jakarta.

“There are six blocks in Tipar Cakung Flat that will be powered with gas,” stated Head of Jakarta Public Housing and Government’s Buildings Department, Yonathan Pasodung, Wednesday (9/17).

According to Pasodung, the use of gas through gas pipelines is more beneficial for the residents because its price is cheaper than using liquefied petroleum gas (elpiji) canisters.

“Using gas through gas pipelines is also safer. This would be an example for other residents,” he said.

Meanwhile, PT Perusahaan Gas Negara (PGN) spokesman, Irwan Andri Atmanto, informed that some flats in the capital city are already installed with gas pipelines. But until now, only Marunda Flat, North Jakarta, which has been powered with gas.

“The gas pipelines have been installed. But to power the flats with gas, we’ll do it gradually,” he explained.
